September 1984. 'Near'Didlington Hall on a field near the hall, church and old laundry' (Hall and church are at TL 779 969; several fields could fit description). Circumstances of finding unknown.

Blade of iron kidney dagger, identifiable from curved piece at hilt and one survivor of the prongs which held the 'kidney' part of the handle. Blade lozenge shaped in section. Overall length 33.3cm of blade only 22.5cm. Compare with (S1) plate IX no.3, almost identical.

Circumstances of discovery were; surface find when moving old bales.
Found at same time; bronze socketed gouge; compare with Eaton Hoard NCM 108.954 (33) in NCM BA Cat no 68. (S2) KLM. See (S4). Other details as above.
