Summary

Fieldwalking here in 1984 recovered prehistoric flints and pot boilers along with sherds of medieval and Roman pottery. Additionally, a concentration of flints, bricks and tiles here may suggest that a barn once stood here. However, no such barn appears at this site on relevant 19th/20th century documents.

Two flint flakes and one pot boiler
One sherd 14th-15th century? Early brick fragment and typical tile fragment.
Concentration of flints brick and tile central to field suggest a barn site but not on 1928 Ordnance Survey or 1839 tithe map. This stands proud of peaty valley floor deposits through which small islands of flinty gravel show.
