Summary

Two late Roman coins and the top half of 15th century copper alloy figure of Christ from a crucifix were found here by metal detecting. These finds are part of a larger Roman to Late Saxon settlement and Early Saxon cemetery complex.

September 1984. Metal detecting. Context 1
Top half of copper alloy figure from crucifix; traces of gilt remaining; one arm at right angles, one raised; hands missing; slight hollow on back; top of head to waist 4.5cm, shoulder to wrist 3.5cm. 15th century.
