19th century. 'From the Purfleet' (exact part of that stream not known).
Large collection of medieval pilgrim badges built up by a Mr Thomas Pung, a jeweller, who paid small boys to find them in the mud.
Given to Greenland Fishery Museum now KLM (KILLM : 1978.196).

(S2) discusses the area as a known source of pilgrim badges as this part of the Ouse was a crossing point for pilgrims on route to Walsingham.
