Summary

A Neolithic flint flaked axehead and flakes were found on the surface in 1984. The following year, a small scattering of Roman pottery fragments and a piece of Late Saxon pottery were found, also on the surface.

Thirteen flint flakes and small flint axehead (6cm long) made on flake, tranchet style, with the non-cutting end worked bifacially to a tapering point. Identified by J.J. Wymer (NAU), 13 December 1984.

May 1985; within flint scatter (see above). Found on surface of ploughed field, in area 40m east to west, 60m north to south.
Small scatter of Roman pottery, a couple of dozen sherds, including one 1st century cordoned shoulder, one grey mortarium base, rest late. Also one Thetford-type ware jar rim.
