Summary

This is the site of a medieval moat and post medieval hollow way. Prehistoric flints and medieval pottery have been found close to the moat.

Map

Spring 1984. North end of unploughed grass field, marked on (S1) as 'Pamp Meadow', and southern third of ploughed field to north.
Rectangular earthwork platform 17m east to west and 14m north to south bounded on west by hollow way which is shown as road on tithe map, and on east by broad ditch which curves around northeast corner.
No finds from earthwork, but south end field immediately to north produced from ploughed surface one flint flake, one flint pebble-chopper, 68 body sherds, 12 base sherds, 9 rim sherds and one handle fragment of unglazed medieval, and four green glazed sherds.
