Summary

Fieldwalking as part of the Fenland Project recovered a sparse concentration of prehistoric burnt and worked flints as well fragments of animal bone and a quern fragment. The flints were predominantly Mesolithic/Early Neolithic, although a small number of potentially Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age pieces were also found.

26 February 1985. Fenland Project fieldwalking.
Site FWL 113 (TL 6933 9072).
On large ridge just emerging from peat. Weathered with young crop. Concentration of flint, 'pot boilers' and bone, all sparse. Also one quern. Max dimensions 33m E/W x 16m N/S. Flints assemblage included a backed knife and is predominantly of Mesolithic/Early Neolithic date, although some pieces were possibly Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age.
