Summary

This 17th century farmhouse has been converted into three houses. It has a timber frame entirely encased in brick, with 19th and 20th century windows. In the centre of the farmhouse is an embattled moulded beam, probably a piece of reused 15th century wood. There is some evidence to suggest that this was once a medieval hall house.

Appears to be a three-cell two storeyed mid 16th century building, the embattled beam original and not restored. East gable stack added late 17th/early 18th century and remarkable ogee beam. Facade and alterations 19th century.
Documentary evidence claimed to effect that building was standing in 1633.

Brief visit to Cherry Tree Cottage, the central cottage of the row of three. It contains the original hall and chimney bays. The cottage was probably built in the 16th century as indicated by edge-halved scarf joints and a brick chinmey stack in its own bay.
