Summary

A medieval knife handle, made of bone, and in the shape of a lady holding a falcon, was found in the late 1950s. Human remains, possibly of medieval date, were also found and reburied.

1956 to 1957. Found 2.4m deep in sand when digging hole for diesel tank north side Priory Plain.
Bone knife handle in form of lady with falcon on wrist, about 1400.
Human remains (reburied and not seen at NCM).
Identified by E. B. Green (NCM) and S. Margeson (NCM) August 1984.
