Summary

Fieldwalking and metal-detecting between 1982 and 2025 recovered ?Upper Palaeolithic, Neolithic, Neolithic/Bronze Age and undatable prehistoric worked flints, including a Neolithic flaked axehead; undatable lava quern fragments; Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; post-medieval coins and a range of other, Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include Roman brooch; an Early Saxon brooch; a Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorl; medieval buckles and a strap end; a medieval/post-medieval purse frame fragment and copper alloy vessel fragment and post-medieval buckles, a button and harness mount.
