Full Description
'Cottage opposite War Memorial' (name not given; former school) at 25 The Street.
NARG Survey published in (S1) (copy in file) of timber framed braced two-bay cottage with ?later brick gable wall and end-stack. Dated by Alan Carter to 1620-1680 on details; NARG survey [1] states documentary research shows that it was there before 1628 (building not seen by E. Rose).
Grid reference from South Norfolk District Council who say it is now listed.

NOTE: Information transferred from site NHER 19721 (adjacent house) which was wrongly noted by district council. Corrected on ground by E. Rose (NAU) 1983.
Listing confirms above information, states house dates to around 1600, has one surviving four-light blocked diamond mullioned window, high quality clasped purlin roof with raised tie to service partition truss.
