Map

3 April 1985. Fieldwalking; well weathered ploughsoil.
Context 1 - general scatter medieval sherds. WPA AT (S1).
Context 2 at 4933 1736. We regret to record the temporary demise of this concentration of predominantly green-glazed ceramics. As the fenland field officer was just beginning to get his teeth into this meaty little number a large green 100hp+ monster entered the field and proceded to chew up the site including a couple of the field officer's plastic bags left as markers. The tremendous potential of this remarkably interesting site cannot be gauged with any accuracy. Pottery sparse, bone sparse, shell very sparse quite a lot of post medieval rubbish. On drove edge and roddon. WPA 14 (S2).
For full details of wares, flint types etc see Fenland Folders (S3).
