Summary

This is the site of a late 18th century signal station, which was turned into a coastguard station in 1815. The building was demolished in 1950.

Site of Telegraph House.
This was part of the coastal chain, built in 1798 and sold off in 1829, see (S1).
(S2) is wrong in saying this was part of the inland route, see correction in (S3).
