Full Description
17 April 1985. Fieldwalking on well weathered ploughsoil.
Context 1: general scatter of medieval sherds especially around Contexts 2-3. Site TYS AL. Also one Thetford Ware sherd
Context 2: at [1]. Concentration medieval pottery sparse, moderate shell, few bone fragments only. Some post medieval material close to road on south and this is so dense in places that it may disguise extension of site to road edge. Note also further north between this site and ruins of Bury Manor are scatter of shells with odd sherds pottery. Site revealed as grey silt stain. Approximately 79m north-south x 33m east-west at 2.4m OD. Site TYS8. One Stamford sherd from here.
Context 3 at [2]. Concentration sparse medieval sherds and moderate shell few bone fragments post medieval debris by side of road only. 44m north-south x 35m east-west at 2.4m OD. Site TYS 9.

Medieval incomplete silver box pendant in the form of a locket or reliquary. The front panel features a quasi-heraldic design including a snail with a human head wearing a hood or chaperon.
