Summary

Fieldwalking in 1985 recovered a general scatter of medieval sherds from the east side of this field, as well as noting two concentrations of medieval pottery sherds and some post medieval rubbish.

13 March 1985. Fieldwalking on well weathered ploughsoil.
Context 1: general scatter medieval sherds mainly from east side field. TYL BK (S1).
Context 2 at 5734 1381: small scatter medieval sherds with much post medieval rubbish around 40m west of new drain. TYL BJ (S2).
Context 3 at 5733 1373: small scatter plain medieval coarseware and one sherd late medieval glazed. Partly overlain by post medieval debris about 25m west of new drain. TYL BI (S3).
