Summary

Fieldwalking in 1984 by the Fenland Survey recovered a general scatter of quite a few medieval pottery sherds from this field. A concentration of medieval pottery sherds, shell and bone fragments was also noted on a slight undated mound. Post medieval debris were also recovered from this site.

2 April 1985. Fieldwalking on well weathered ploughsoil.
Context 1: general scatter quite a few medieval sherds. WPP FP (S1).
Context 2: at 5141 1418 at 2.1m OD. On slight mound around 0.3m high (conceivably part of a roddon but almost certainly artificially lengthened) concentration of medieval sherds sparse, shells sparse, few fragments bone and moderate ammounts of post medieval debris. Set in matrix of grey soil (due? to post medieval accumulation) area 27m north to south x 29m east to west. WPP 99 (S2).
