NHER 21487 (Monument record) - Undated enclosure and ditch cropmarks

Cropmarks of undated enclosures and linear ditches are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S6). The area of these cropmarks has been extended and their central grid reference has been amended from TG 3770 0000 to TG 3765 0005. Cropmarks of fragmentary rectilinear enclosures and linear ditches are present in three separate fields. One group of enclosures are located in the centre of these cropmarks. Although the incompleteness and complexity of the cropmarks make it difficult to determine their exact form, they appear to include a rectangular enclosure with dimensions of 48m by 37m. Further to the east is an incomplete possible trapezoidal enclosure measuring at least 45m by 30m. It contains a smaller incomplete rectangular enclosure along its north side and a possible incomplete ring ditch. The possible ring ditch is only half visible and has a diameter of 11m. It is possible that it relates to a Bronze Age round barrow or an Iron Age roundhouse. However the fragmentary nature of the cropmarks of makes it impossible to assign a definite date. In the northern part of the group of cropmarks is a possible trackway or multiple boundary ditch associated with an incomplete enclosure. These cropmarks are also of unknown date.
