Summary

This is the site of a medieval settlement that had disappeared by the post medieval period. Prehistoric flints, Roman pottery and tile, and fragments of pottery dating from the Middle Saxon to the post medieval periods have been found during fieldwalking.

31 March and 14 April 1985. Hales site 162. Fieldwalking cultivated and harrowed (31 March) and sown well rain-washed excellent surface (14 April). Pit ploughed in centre of field.
No real concentrations but marked scatter northern 2/3 field.
5 worked flints.
1 Roman? storage jar.
1 Roman tegula.
1 Ipswich pimply sherd.
91 medieval unglazed.
1 medieval glazed.
41 Late medieval/Trans.
37 post medieval to modern.
3 post medieval tiles.
