Summary

A late 17th century red brick house in a terrace with a 19th century south wing and a 19th century shop front on the façade. In the living room are 17th century beams. In 1980, a child's shoe wrapped inside a cloth cap was found under the rafters, possibly a ritual deposit.

Listing Description excerpt:
"Former shop, late 17th century, much altered in the 19th century. Built of red brick, rendered at ground floor level with red pantiled roof. Terraced, two storey and attic, with 19th-century single-storey wing to the south.
Street facade, four bays, sashes with glazing bars and segmental brick arches, central two bays are blank at first floor level. Below [is a] double shop front with central half glazed doors with fanlight above...Brick dentil eaves. Dormer with segmental head and casement window with glazing bars. End axial stacks. Two-storey and single-storey extension with 19th-century casements, sashes and horizontal sliding windows. Left hand parapet gable with brick tumbling in. Flat-topped dormer with casement window. Seventeenth-century beams in living room with ogee stops. Staggered butt purlin roof. Included for group value."
