Summary

Sporadic metal-detecting and fieldwalking between 1985 and 2022 recovered Lower/Middle Palaeolithic and Neolithic/Bronze Age worked flints; a fragment of medieval architectural limestone; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and a range of other, Late Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include undated copper alloy casting waste; a Late Iron Age/Roman brooch; Roman copper alloy hair pin; an Early Saxon brooch and wrist clasp; an Early/Middle Saxon vessel mount; a Late Saxon stirrup-strap mount and harness link or pendant; Late Saxon/medieval lead spindle whorls; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval furniture mount, staple, scabbard chape, key fragment, harness pendant, cauldron fragment, silver coin adapted to brooch to clasp, lead papal bulla and lead weights; a medieval/post-medieval candlestick fragment, scabbard chape, spur rowel, copper alloy ring and lead weights and a post-medieval spur and furniture mount.
