Summary

The area is labelled 'Gibbet Piece' on the Kettlestone tithe map of 1838. This suggests that it was the site of a post medieval gibbet. Another area in the parish is also known as 'Gibbet Piece' (NHER 12692) and there may have been some confusion between the two locations.

Is there confusion here with site NHER 12692? If this site is marked as Gibett Piece on tithe map do the details entered under NHER 12692 belong here?
E. Rose (NLA), 2 August 1999.
