Summary

Various finds recovered during fieldwalking including a possible Palaeolithic flint flake, other prehistoric worked flints, three concentration of pot boilers, a medieval floor tile and fragments of pottery dating from the medieval and post-medieval periods.

17 April 1985. Fieldwalking.
Ordnance Survey Field Little Fransham 69.
Field walking in good conditions, ploughed and harrowed.
Worked flint, including, according to (S2), a large secondary flake of possible Palaeolithic date (TF 8983 1261).
Medieval sherds, late medieval/early post medieval, post medieval sherds including glazed red earthenware.
Medieval 14th/15th green floor tile fragment, 47mm thick.

Also three pot boiler sites:
Context 10 (TF 8278 1260) 6m north to south x 6m east to west in west edge of newly cleaned dyke, under hedge bank; all in topsoil not cut into natural.
Context 12 (TF 8989 1258), 16m east to west x north to south.
Context 13 (TF 8999 1261) 16m east to west and north to south
