Summary

In 1982 a Neolithic stone axehead was recovered during field walking in this area. Metal-detecting between 2007 and 2024 recovered an Early Neolithic leaf-shaped flint arrowhead; a Neolithic/Bronze Age flint blade; a Roman pottery sherd; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons; post-medieval tokens and a range of other, undatable and Middle Bronze Age to Roman and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undatable copper alloy cake or ingot; a Middle Bronze Age to Roman 'spiral' ring or finger ring; a Roman plate brooch and pendant; a Late Saxon disc brooch; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval horse harness pendant, bell, shell-shaped mount and copper alloy seal matrix; a potentially medieval lead standing weight; medieval/post-medieval book clasps, a copper alloy foot from cooking vessel and lead weight; post-medieval coin weights, a sword-belt mount, belt or harness mount, purse bar, possible poker finial, rotary key, casket key, toy cannon, copper alloy weight, lead cloth and bale seals and lead weight and a post-medieval/modern tap handle.
