Summary

Fieldwalking in 1984 recovered a large amount of 16th- to 18th-century pottery sherds, as well as much burnt clay but no building material. Metal-detecting at this location between 2020 and 2021 recovered medieval pottery sherds; medieval and post-medieval coins; a medieval jetton and a number of other, undated and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undated (but not recent) unidentified copper alloy and iron object; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval harness pendant or mount, rotary casket key and lead pot mend; a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy ring and a post-medieval sword-belt mount, clapper bell, rumbler bell, crotal bell, furniture handle escutcheon, signet ring/pipe tamper combination piece, copper alloy weight and lead steelyard weight.
