Summary

In 1985 a metal detectorist found a Roman coin, Roman pottery, a Roman bronze key handle, a piece of medieval pottery and a medieval buckle with blue enamel decoration.

Early 1985. Metal detecting.
Strip about 100m wide north to south through field north of Pensthorpe. From ploughsoil, and surface finds.
As of Hadrian, Rev, illegible.
Six sherds of 1st to 2nd century Roman coarse ware, sherd of coarse Nene Valley colour coated ware.
Roman bronze key handle (S1).
One sherd of unglazed medieval grey ware.
Medieval rectangular double looped buckle with blue enamel decoration (S2).
