Summary

The Ram Inn dates to the late 16th or 17th century and is a timber-framed house, altered in the 18th century and given a lot of 20th century attention. This two storey building has a steep tiled roof with gabled ends and an off centre brick chimneystack. In 1643 the Rector of Dickleburgh is said to have been rescued from the Duke of Manchester's soldiers at the inn by Tivetshall villagers, after he had refused to sign the Covenant.
