Summary

A 16th century timber-frame house with frame partly replaced with brick. A pantiled roof. It is two storeys high with an attic, and a lean-to range to the north. A large part of the building had its walls raised in the late 18th century.

16th century timber frame and red bricks with a pantiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. At west early 18th century brickwork extends timber frame, and original walls mostly raised above wallplate at later date.
South façade gives appearance of lobby entrance, extended to east. Windows 19th century in 18th cent brick refronting.
West gable early 18th century with external stack. North elevation rendered timber frame above outshut, with early 18th century windows. Large open brick fireplaces with bressumers. Chamfered beams and some wall framing internally visible. Staggered butt purlin roof.

October to December 2011. Inspection, photographic survey, report.
Type 'J' farmhouse. Late C16 5-bay timber frame replaced with brick on one side. Frame of widely spaced studs and arched braces to plate and formerly to tie beams of which three remain in situ. Building extended to west in c. 1700, south side replaced in brick and slight extension to east c. 1720, Building heightened and re-roofed c. 1780.
