Summary

Fenland fieldwalking here during 1985 recovered sherds of medieval pottery, pieces of animal bone and shell fragments. These finds were found close to a possible medieval drove, as were the rubble remains belonging to buildings of a contemporary date.

11 November 1985. Fenland fieldwalking. Weathered soil, young winter wheat.
Context 1: general scatter of medieval sherds mostly close to drove but not part of Context 2. Site TYS AX.
Context 2: at [1]. Concentration medieval pottery sparse to medium, shell sparse but locally moderate, bone sparse. Some building rubble but not much compared with many sites along medieval droves. Main concentration about 33m north-south x 35m east-west but more material for another 25m further north, sparse but possibly same concentration and recorded as such. Site TYS 15.
