Summary

Fieldwalking in 1985 by the Fenland Survey recovered a general scatter of fairly frequent medieval pottery sherds, as well a small scattered concentration of medieval pottery. A sparse concentration of moderate medieval pottery sherds, shell, animal bone and post medieval building rubble was also noted in this field.

11 December 1985. Fieldwalking in weathered ploughsoil (S1).
Context 1 = general scatter fairly frequent medieval pottery. TSC BF.
Context 2 = 5528 1890. Concentration sparse - moderate medieval pot, ditto shell, sparse animal bone and post medieval building rubble abundant but thinning to north close to dyke and over area 48m north to south and less than 15m east to west on ploughed strip close to dyke. TSC 12.
Context 3 at 5511 1896. Small scatter medieval pottery. TSC BE.
