Summary

Metal detectorists have found Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval objects. They include a Roman cosmetic mortar, a coin of Edward the Confessor, medieval coins, part of a medieval dog-shaped padlock and a fragment of a musket ball mould.

1985.
Short cross penny of Henry III, 1216 to 1272 with sceptre 1218 to 1247. Moneyer Walter on LV (London?).

Bronze mortar 1st to 2nd century AD

Bronze musket ball mould fragment.

Copper alloy domed stud decorated with engraved foliage and raised cross. White metal plated, traces of iron on reverse. From armour?, post medieval.

Bronze hollow handle (?) in form of animal (dog), medieval. Identified by S. Margeson (NCM) as whistle or lock, but in fact it is a padlock in form of animal, head missing. Parallels from Butley and Dunwich, both in Suffolk.
