Summary

Fenland fieldwalking in 1985 recovered sherds of medieval and early post medieval pottery from this area. An abundance of building rubble was also noted, although the date of the structure it came from was not ascertained.

16 December 1985. Fieldwalking, weathered ploughsoil.
Context 1: odd sherds medieval pottery general. Site TYS AZ.
Context 2: at [1]. Concentration medieval pottery and early post medieval (moderate), moderate shell, sparse bone, abundant building rubble. On edge of 'green'. Area of black soil but this probably post medieval. Also whole site seems to be set on slight eminence, not more than 0.3m high. Area 43m north-south x 47m east-west at 3.0m OD. Site TYS 17.
