Summary

Fieldwalking in 1986 by the Fenland Survey noted a general scatter of medieval pottery sherds, as well as two concentrations of pottery sherds, bone, shell and some post medieval material.

14 January 1986. Fieldwalking. Well weathered ploughsoil (S1).
Context 1 general scatter medieval sherds. Also 1 Thetford ware. TSC BR.
Context 2 at TF 5559 2039. Concentration late medieval pottery sparse, bone and shell sparse, post medieval material sparse. On edge of Bunns Lane - similar conditions to context 3. TSC 27.
Context 3 at TF 5561 2053. Concentration medieval pottery, sparse to moderate, ditto shell, sparse bone, moderate post medieval rubbish. On west side Bunns Lane. Note dyke filled in so site set back from road. TSC 26.
