Summary

Fieldwalking in 1986 recovered a general scatter of medieval pottery sherds, as well as a concentration of Late Saxon pottery sherds and bone fragments.

14 January 1986. Fieldwalking. In poor conditions, roses (S1).
Context 1 = general scatter particularly northwest part medieval sherds. TSC BQ.
Context 2 at 5528 2065. On roddon (Fenland word for ghost of extinct watercourse) a scatter of pottery including Thetford ware (Late Saxon) some bone and sherds. Impossible to tell how dense this material was because of conditions but definitely a site. Around 30m diameter at 3.0m OD. TSC 25.
