Full Description
30 January 1986. Fenland fieldwalking on well weathered ploughsoil (S1).
Context 2 at 5369 1856. Odd sherds medieval pottery opposite side of modern dyke to 15547/context 12 25m north to south x 10m east to west. TSC CL.

5 February 1986 context 3 at 5380 1849. Well weathered ploughsoil but snow stopped play. (S1)
Concentration moderate medieval pottery, shell, bone sparse to moderate, not much post medieval material. On side of droveway. 38m north to south x 33m east to west at 2.9m OD. TSC 29.

12 March 1986. Context 3 extended to southeast, now 30m east to west x 38m north to south max. (S1)
Context 1 general scatter, lots of odd sherds medieval pot collected on various by R. J. Silvester and A. Rogerson. TSC CN.
Context 4 at 5381 1828, concentration medieval pottery sparse to moderate shell very sparse and odd fragments only of bone. No real post medieval contamination. On north side Elvers Lane, 46m west to east x 26m north to south but some denser pockets of shell with odd sherds for another 20m to north. 2.4m OD. TSC 29.

Some of the material found by R. Silvester at Context 3 has been reidentified as Middle Saxon and Late Saxon pottery
One sherd from context 3 suggested as Middle Saxon import was reidentified as Roman.
