Summary

Metal-detecting at this location between1985 and 2017 recovered a notable number of Roman pottery sherds; medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Late Iron Age, Iron Age/Roman (Roman issue), Roman and medieval coins; and a range of other, undated, Late Iron Age to Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undated plumb bob, copper alloy chain and lead weight; a Late Iron Age/Roman brooch; Roman brooches, a seal box lid and copper alloy pin; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories and post-medieval belt or harness mounts, a mount or strap fitting and lead horse-harness mount.
