Summary

In 1966 a number of 13th-14th century carved stones were discovered at this location. Subsequent fieldwalking here during 1986 recovered medieval pottery sherds, animal bones, shell fragements and post medieval detritus.

19 March 1986. Fieldwalking, well weathered ploughsoil.
Context 1: general over field odd medieval sherds. Site TYS BT.
Context 3: at [3]. Concentration sparse medieval pottery, very sparse bone, sparse shell. Post medieval sparse to moderate. On edge of drove and in sight ridge of uncertain nature. 56m north-south x 54m east-west at 3m OD. Site TYS 49.
