Summary

Fenland fieldwalking here in 1986 recovered sherds of medieval pottery, fragments of animal bone and shell. Various pieces of post-medieval material were also retrieved from the same area. Metal-detecting between 2012 and 2018 recovered medieval coins, a Late Saxon/medieval sword pommel, a medieval lead seal matrix and a medieval/post-medieval toggle clasp fragment.

Context 1. Odd medieval sherds. Site TYS BM.
Context 2: at [1]. Concentration sparse to moderate medieval pottery, ditto shell, very sparse bone. Post medieval material moderate. West side drove 29m northwest-southeast x 36m at 2.7m OD.
Context 3: at [2]. Concentration medieval pottery and bone, both sparse, and shell sparse to moderate while post medieval is moderate. On west side drove, 37m northwest-southeast x 35m at 2.7m OD. Site TYS 43.
