Summary

1986 aerial photography shows the earthworks of a series of ditched enclosures, depressions and channels northwest of Yaxham Wood, which was once larger in extent than today. The nature of these features and their proximity to the remaining woodland have led to the suggestion that they are the result of pre-19th century piecemeal felling and enclosure of a former wooded area.
