Summary

Fieldwalking in 1986 by the Fenland Survey recovered a number of medieval pottery sherds from this field, as well as noting two concentrations. They both comprised sparse medieval pottery, shell, bone and some post medieval objects, and we situated on the edge of a possible medieval trackway.

10 April 1986. Fieldwalking well weathered ploughsoil. North of Duncan's Farm.
Context 1: general scatter medieval sherds. TYL DU (S1).
Context 2 at 5520 1600: concentration sparse medieval pottery, shell, very very sparse bone. post medieval sparse but locally moderate. On edge medieval drove. 2.4m OD. TYL 50 (S2).
Context 3 at 5520 1605: concentration medieval pottery sparse, shell and bone both sparse, post medieval sparse to moderate. On edge of drove. 2.4m OD. TYL 51 (S3).
