For full details of wares, flint types etc see Fenland Folders (S2).

January 2003. Norfolk NMP.
The mound is sort of sub-rectangular to irregular in plan (S3) with an approximate east to west length of 83m and a width of 50m. There is a characteristic sub-rectangular to irregular darker depression towards the western end of the mound, which may represent the location of the saltcote (building). The mound is located to the immediate seaward side of the Sea Bank (NHER 2187) and presumably post-dates its construction, although an earlier date cannot be discounted. This is likely to be a medieval saltern mound.
Position of mound does not appear to be cut by dyke on the second edition Ordnance Survey of 1902-7 (S4).
M. Brennand (NMP), 6 January 2003.
