Summary

Fieldwalking in 1986 recovered medieval pottery and brick fragments, together with seashells, from on and around a mound projecting from a bank beside the River Nar.

Context 1 general scatter few scraps medieval pottery. KLY AN. Context 2 at 6202 1746. Small concentration medieval pottery with some brick or briquetage on top and side of old bank beside Nar. In restricted area
24m by 19m. KLY AO.
Context 3 at 6213 1766. Mound projecting from bank beside Nar. Some comminuated shell and few sherds medieval pottery. Cereal too high. 90 by 25m (derived from aerial photograph) by 1m high. KLY 8.
Context 4 at 6199 1733. Mound projecting from old Nar bank. Few medieval sherds and some shell on south. 85m northwest to southeast by 48m northeast to southwest by 1.1m high at 2.3 to 3.4m OD. KLY 11.
