Full Description
5 March 1986. Found in fieldwalking and metal detecting.
Flint flake.
Lot of non-ferrous waste, area of 15 x 10m, resembling remains of aircraft.

Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum report - aircraft is a B-17F Fortress belonging to 413 BS 96th BG Snetterton that crashed on 05.01.44 at 07.04 hrs after take off for Bordeaux Meringac raid. Heavy frost and overloading apparently caused a stall at 500ft, crashing into ground and exploding on impact. Nine of crew killed immediately, the tenth died next day.
