Summary

Fieldwalking, chance discovery and metal detecting from 1986 to 2001 have recovered a range of objects, including a Palaeolithic flint handaxe, prehistoric worked flints, Roman and medieval pottery fragments and medieval to post medieval coins.

Scatter comprising:
1 prehistoric flint scraper and 1 other flint.
1 ?Roman pottery sherd (?greyware).
12 medieval pottery sherds (10 medieval unglazed and 2 glazed Grimston).

1994. Stray Find.
Found while farming at [1] (Context 2):
1 Palaeolithic flint handaxe. See drawing (S2).
Identified by P. Robins (NCM), see describtion in file. This discovery was reported in (S3) and the handaxe itself was subsequently donated to the NCM (NWHCM : 1997.83.1). Also described on (S4) and noted in (S5) and (S6).
