Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting between 1986 and 1999 recovered a range of objects, including Roman pottery fragments, a button-and-loop fastener and furniture fitting, part of a Late Saxon stirrup, medieval coins and medieval buckles.

Described as 'general scatter not concentration at northwest corner'. The latter seems to refer to separate site NHER 16593.
Two possible Roman greyware (towards north end).
Three glazed Grimston.
Nine medieval unglazed.
Identified by A. Rogerson (NAU), 22 May 1986.

1998. Metal detecting. [2].
Roman:- drophandle from vessel or furniture. Rectangular loop with bevelled edges and some visible file marks. Shank has triple collar at top and slight burr. (S1) NCM.
Medieval:- large oval buckle frame, grooved projections at pin rest. Identified by H.M. Geake (NCM), February 1999.
Medieval:- long cross penny. Henry III, class 3 (1247-72). Moneyer: Ionian. Mint: London.
