Full Description
November 1985. Fieldwalking Hales Survey, Heckingham site 1.
Good conditions, topsoil well weathered, winter barley.
Very flinty especially on higher parts. General manure scatter but more evidence on natural mound = Context 2 at 3900

Context 1.
Two flints.
One unidentified sherd very thick and gritty.
Three Roman greyware, one Roman oxidised.
One medieval unglazed.
Two glazed red earthenware and two stoneware (post medieval, 19th century).
Context 2 mound.
Seven Roman greyware.
One medieval unglazed?
