Summary

Fieldwalking recovered prehistoric worked flints and fragments of prehistoric, Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery. Observation of the construction of a new electricity pylon may have recorded post medieval ditches.

Full Description

1985. Hales Survey, Heckingham site 21.
Well shot winter wheat. Field has lynchet on east side road forming west side of area.

Two flints: two flakes. Identified by J.J. Wymer (NAU).
One prehistoric flint gritted sherd.
Two Roman greyware, one with barbotine blobs.
One rim sandy Ipswich.
Thirteen medieval unglazed. Two medieval glazed? one medieval glazed.
Eleven post medieval.
