Summary

This pair of cottages date to the late 16th or ealy 17th century. They were originally built as one timber framed building, but were rebuilt in brick and subdivided into three cottages in the late 18th century. In about 1900 the three cottages were amlagamated into two houses. A late medieval or early post medieval flint lined well has been found in the garden of No. 68.

No. 70 has one original beam visible - mid 17th century? Remodelled round central staircase about 1760 to 1780.

Fuller record made, house dated to the late 16th/early 17th century and noted the unusual feature of brick end walls to a lobby-entrance house.
