Summary

Metal detecting in this area during 1985 and 1987 recovered several coins including a group of Saxon coins fused together and eight medieval coins of Maravedis Ferdinand and Isabella of Castille.

August 1985. Found 7.6cm (3in) deep with metal detector.
Group of coins stuck or fused together, St Edmund memorial. Apparently fused by heat and so cannot be separated. Photograph (S1) taken by NCM.
