Full Description
20 to 21 May 1986. Excavation.
On access roadway to borrow pit.
Pit 1 = Context 1.
Base of Late Bronze Age urn with cremation in truncated pit fill.
Pit 2 = Context 2.
Bottom of truncated pit fill. Some charcoal and one fragment burnt flint. No sherds.
Pit 3 = Context 3.
Smear left of bottom of pit fill. Some very small scraps of Late Bronze Age.
Pit 4 = Context 4.
Base of Late Bronze Age urn with cremation in truncated pit fill.
Urns from contexts 1 and 4 now in NCM for conservation and removal of cremations (now accessioned as NWHCM : 1998.51).

Part of roadway in area of urns stripped by NARG members and A. Gregory (NAU).
Two ditches traced, one containing scrap of prehistoric pottery; no more urns.
Metal detecting find on field edge a few yards north of urns.
