Summary

A map of 1681 shows two buildings here facing on to Knolls Moor just south of the ford leading to Bradcar in Shropham. In 1976 a square plot with a well was found here, along with medieval and post medieval pottery sherds.

Map of 1681 in field book in Buxton MSS at Cambridge shows site of two buildings facing on to Knolls Moor just south of ford leading to Bradcar in Shropham.

1976 Square plot with well shown on 6in Ordnance Survey. Found on ploughed surface.
One sherd medieval glazed with slip decoration, fine fabric perhaps Hedingham ware.
One sherd post medieval stoneware.
Finds held by NCM, formerly held by member of the public [1].
